Breaking the curse of not shipping games
This is my 2nd bitsy style game. I wanted to do something very small since I only completed 1 game last year. That was my first bitsy game and I'm starting to return to this engine when I have trouble finishing things. I think of shipping a game after a while as breaking a curse and maybe I'm being too dramatic.
One of my goals the last year is to work in the games industry and that lead me to making bigger games. 'Would anyone hire someone where their best games in their portfolio are bitsy games? No' I thought and I must make a 3D game because that's what the companies want.
I now want to make many games that I like and see where that takes me. I want to slowly get better and make more games. Also I want to remember I don't win at gamedev. The point isn't to make a living doing it and have the most fun possible but to do it but to approach it like I did my music producing. I like music I make music and I get something out of it.
The engine I used was bipsi: https://candle.itch.io/bipsi
Play it here: https://chipset.itch.io/game-about-my-cat-sasha
Happy new year!
